What is that worth in a year?

In Estonia the cheapest hour of the day has been on average 40.0 EUR/MWh below that day’s average price over the last 30 days. Shifting a regular appliance into those hours is worth roughly:

Washing machine · 3× a week~9 € per year
Dishwasher · 4× a week~15 € per year
Charging an electric car · 3× a week~219 € per year

Wholesale price difference only — grid fees, taxes and VAT do not change with the hour, so they are not included. This only applies on a dynamic or spot-linked tariff; on a fixed tariff your price is the same all day.

The bot watches the prices and pings you when the cheap hours start.

Electricity prices explained

Is this the price I pay on my bill?
No — these are wholesale day-ahead spot prices (EUR/MWh). Your final bill also includes grid fees, taxes, VAT and your supplier’s margin. They matter most if you’re on a dynamic or spot-linked tariff.
Why is electricity cheaper at some hours?
Prices follow supply and demand hour by hour. They usually drop overnight and when there’s lots of wind or solar, and rise during morning and evening peaks. Shifting heavy usage to the cheap hours is where the savings are.
How can I use this to save money?
Run high-power appliances — washing machine, dishwasher, EV charger — during the cheapest window shown above. Our cost calculator shows how much you save, and the Telegram bot can alert you when prices drop.
